Golf Links Inc. was founded on the ideal that golf should be made available to anyone who desires to play the game regardless of financial position. To achieve this simple goal we design and build our courses architecturally sound, agronomically correct and economically feasible. Our designs are modeled so that maintenance costs are reasonable, and the debt of the course is not such a burden that the owner cannot make a reasonable profit. Most important, we build courses that golfers enjoy and return to play. Our design philosophy revolves around making the golf course fit the site. The term minimalist design may have become popular today, but we have been practicing this low style since we began building courses back in the 80's when many were moving millions of yards of earth. We believe site selection is the single most important factor in building a quality golf course that is enjoyable for players of all levels. This is also the key to keeping course construction costs and long-term maintenance costs reasonable without sacrificing quality. We create courses that are fair but challenging, have continued interest to play, provide strategic options, look pretty and cause the player to think. We get a feel for the land, we listen to the client, and we build a course that we believe has integrity and will stand the test of time. In a day when designers move millions of yards of earth at huge expense, we believe what the architects of the “Golden Age” believed: that the greatest golf holes are found, not manufactured. We do not think golf courses need to grow bigger, longer, and more costly. They just need to be more player and owner friendly. |
